The Central European defense cooperation ( english Central European Defense Cooperation , shortly CEDC ) is a cooperation of Central European States Czech Republic , Slovakia , Hungary , Austria , Slovenia and Croatia .

The Central European Defense Cooperation was founded in 2010. Poland has observer status. The presidency changes annually.

Meetings

The first ministerial meeting took place in June 2012 in Frauenkirchen , Austria.

From March 31 to April 1, 2016, a conference of defense ministers from the CEDC member states as well as from Poland, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro took place in Vienna. The central issue was the refugee crisis . Germany and Greece were also invited but did not take part. In connection with the refugee movements, a joint initiative to secure the external border, the continued closure of the Balkan route and the implementation of return measures were decided. These points are to be sent in a joint letter to the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini , and will be discussed at the next Defense Ministers Council on April 18, 2016 in Luxembourg.
