Emmy Cero-Friedl (born March 15, 1946 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia ) is an Austrian painter .

Life

Cero-Friedl moved to Vienna at the age of 13. There she studied from 1965 to 1968 at the Academy of Fine Arts and from 1970 to 1973 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Joseph Beuys and Kurt Arnscheidt.

Her works painted on wood are reminiscent of dream worlds and fairy tales, whereby the grain of the wood is often part of the scenery.

From June 2 to 16, 2012, on the second floor of the Palais Palffy, an exhibition from Cero-Friedl's forty years of work was on view in the Phantastenmuseum .

From November 22nd, 2018 to April 30th, 2019, the exhibition From / for wounded souls was shown at the PSZ Graz .

Cero-Friedl lives in Styria .
