Peter Paul Cetera (born September 13, 1944 in Chicago , Illinois) is an American singer , songwriter and bassist. He became known with the rock band Chicago , which he left in 1985. After that he was successful as a solo artist.

Career

After Cetera had already gained first experience in the band The Exceptions in the 1960s , he became a member of The Big Thing in 1967 , which later renamed itself the Chicago Transit Authority and then Chicago , with which he was successful in the following years. In 1985 he left the band in favor of a solo career. His first solo single after breaking up with Chicago , Glory of Love , made it straight to number 1 in the US charts and is part of the soundtrack of Karate Kid II - Decision in Okinawa . In a duet with Amy Grant and the song The Next Time I Fall , he was able to repeat this success in the same year.
