Chaibou Dan Inna

Chaïbou Dan Inna (born July 12, 1952 in Filingué ; also Chaïbou Dan-Inna ) is a Nigerien theater scholar , playwright and politician .

Life

Chaïbou Dan Inna first studied at Niamey University , which he graduated in 1977 with a degree in modern philology . In 1979 he did a maîtrise in modern philology at the University of Abidjan and in 1985 a doctorate in French- language literatures and cultures at the University of Bordeaux III . In his dissertation he dealt with the history and politics of theater in French-speaking West Africa from 1960 to the present.

Dan Inna taught at the humanities and human sciences faculty at Niamey University from 1984 . At the same time, he pursued a career as a senior administrative officer in various Nigerien ministries. His research focus was on theater in Africa, especially in Niger. He researched the oral tradition of Hausa and devoted himself to French translations of contemporary plays and traditional poetry. With Jean-Dominique Pénel he published a bibliography of Nigerien literature in 1988 . In his play Une vie de cent carats , published in 1993, Dan Inna dealt with the life of Burkinabe President Thomas Sankara . The verse drama ties in with the historical dramas by Boubou Hama , André Salifou and Joseph Keïta and uses traditional Nigerian theater and narrative forms as well as the Brechtian alienation effect .

Chaibou Dan Inna was appointed Minister for Vocational and Technical Education in the government of Prime Minister Brigi Rafini under President Mahamadou Issoufou on August 13, 2013 . His predecessor in this office was N'Gadé Nana Hadiza Noma Kaka . On April 11, 2016, Dan Inna was replaced as Minister by Abdou Amani .
