The University of Bordeaux Montaigne ( French : Université Bordeaux Montaigne ) is one of four universities in the French city of Bordeaux . It is numerically the largest of the four universities founded in the early 1970s with a humanities background. In 1990 she named herself after Michel de Montaigne . On March 12, 2014, the university, previously called “Université Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux III”, was renamed “Université Bordeaux Montaigne” after the other three Bordeaux universities were merged into the “Université de Bordeaux”.
