Cha Kwang-su

Cha Kwang-su (born February 25, 1979 ) is a former North Korean wrestler . In 2005 he was Asian champion in the Greco-Roman style bantamweight .

Career

Nothing is known about the personal circumstances of Cha Kwang-su. His international wrestling career began in 2002 when he took part in the Asian Games in Busan . He started there in the featherweight in Greco-Roman style and took 9th place. In 2004 he started in Tashkent at an Olympic qualification tournament, but only came 10th in the featherweight division. This place was not enough for authorization to start at the Olympic Games in Athens .

In 2005 he was then Asian bantamweight champion in Wuhan ahead of Im Dae-won from South Korea and Mukesh Chatri from India . He also won a medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha , the bronze one. The winner there was Jiao Hua Feng from the People's Republic of China ahead of Jassin Amiri from Iran .

At the Asian Championships in 2007 in Bishkek and in 2008 in Jeju / South Korea, Cha Kwang-su reached the final, in which he was defeated both times against the exceptional wrestler Hamid Soryan Reihanpour from Iran. In 2008 he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing . But there he lost his first bantamweight fight against Jagniel Hernandez from Cuba . Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and only came in 15th place.

Then he ended his international wrestling career.
