Lee Jung-baek (born August 27, 1986 ) is a South Korean wrestler . He is two-time Asian champion in the Greco-Roman style in bantamweight .

Career

Lee Jung-baek started wrestling as a teenager in 2001. He focuses on the Greco-Roman style. He is a member of the Wrestling Club of Kyong Nam University and is trained by An Dae-hyun. At a height of 1.60 meters, he has always started in the lightest weight class in men's wrestling, the bantam weight, which reaches up to 55 kg body weight.

In June 2006 he took part in an international championship for the first time. He finished 2nd at the Asian Junior Championship in Jeju / South Korea behind the exceptional wrestler Hamid Soryan Reihanpour from Iran . At the Junior World Championships this year in Vilnius , where he lost again to Reihanpour, he came in 7th place.

In 2006 he became the senior Asian champion for the first time in Alma-Ata ( Astana ). He referred Cha Kwang-Su , North Korea , Hamid Banitamin, Iran and Akbar Kusijew, Uzbekistan to their places. In 2007 he could not defend this title, but came in 3rd place at the Asian Championships in Bishkek behind Hamid Soryan Reihanpour and Cha Kwang-Su.

In the years 2008 to 2010 he was not used in any international championships. In 2011 he took 3rd place at the Asian Championships in Tashkent behind Arsen Eralijew from Kyrgyzstan and Ildar Hafisow from Uzbekistan and in 2012 he was again Asian champion in Gumi / South Korea ahead of Elmurat Tasmuradow, Uzbekistan and Kanybek Dscholtschubekow, Kyrgyzstan. In 2012 he was also used at the Olympic qualification tournament in Astana, but with a 7th place clearly missed the qualification norm. In May 2012 he won the World Cup in Saransk ahead of Hamid Soryan Reihanpour. At the Olympic Games in 2012, the South Korean Wrestling Association was represented by Choi Gyu-jin .
