Chaemtir
(Cha em tir)
Ḫˁ m tjr

Chaemtir was an ancient Egyptian treasurer of the 20th dynasty , who under Ramses III. , Ramses IV and Ramses V served.

In the third year of Ramses IV, he took part in the great expedition to the Wadi Hammamat and is otherwise occupied in the second and fourth years. His traces can be seen until the end of Ramses III. in the 26th year of his reign, where he and other high officials investigated unmentioned incidents in Deir el-Medina . In or after the year 3 of Ramses V it is reported in a papyrus that he checked a treasure house of Khnum in Elephantine and discovered irregularities there. The last mention was made in the fourth year of Ramses V.

According to Helck, his activities clearly indicate that he officiated in the southern half of the country. At the beginning of the reign of Ramses IV. Chaemtir was removed from office for a short time, because at that time a southern treasury manager named Paiefraui appeared.

In contrast to the northern treasury chief Monthemtaui , Chaemtir only had the title Imi-ra-per-hedj ("Treasury chief").
