Chain Reaction is a 1985 song written by Diana Ross , written by the Bee Gees and produced by the Gibb-Galuten-Richardson production team with the participation of Michael Jackson .

history

The song was not originally intended for Diana Ross, but after hearing a demo of the song, she insisted on singing it. The Bee Gees, for their part, are suspected to be in the song's background choir.

Chain Reaction was released in the United States on October 25, 1985. In other countries the single was released later. The piece became a number one hit in the UK and Australia . Upon release, the song initially made it to number 95 in the United States, but after a re-release in early 1986, it landed at number 66.

The song is 3:47 minutes long and appeared on the album Eaten Alive . On the B-side of the single is the track More and More .

Another version of the song was released in 1993 under the name Chain Reaction '93 , which became a top 20 hit in the UK.

Music video

At the beginning of the music video, Diana Ross sings the song on a stage, and you can see her in both color and black and white photography . The black and white photography scenes are live performances by the Supremes in a studio. In intermediate scenes, Ross walks along a path and is accompanied by background dancers during the performances. The audience then dances in both the color and black and white scenes. When both sequences of scenes meet, the producer suffers a nervous breakdown in the black and white scenes at the end.
