Chamen is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for the year 2013, about 1305 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 863 inhabitants.

Chamen, in the Central River Region in the district of Nianija on the northern bank of the Gambia River, is located around 20 kilometers southwest of the North Bank Road , an important highway of the Gambia.

The Chamen Bridge spans the Nianija Bolong around one kilometer west of the village .
