The Chamir ( Kazakh Хамир өзені ; Russian Хамир ) is a right tributary of the Buchtarma in eastern Kazakhstan in the southwest Altai .

The Chamir rises on the southern slope of the Cholsun mountain range at an altitude of around 2100  m . It initially flows along the ridge to the southeast, but then turns to the west-southwest. It takes in the Tegerek , its main tributary, from the right. The Chamir flows along the southeast flank of the Ulba ridge . In the lower reaches it flows south and finally flows into the Buchtarma at the settlement Putinzewo . The city of Syrianovsk is located 10 km south of the estuary . The Chamir has a length of 72 km. It drains an area of ​​1050 km².
