The Cholsun ( Russian Холзун, Коржынтау Korschyntau ; Kazakh Қоржынтау ) is a mountain range in the western Altai Mountains along the border between the Republic of Altai ( Russia ) and the Kazakh territory eastern Kazakhstan .

The Cholsun runs about 100 km in WNW-OSE direction. The right Buchtarma tributary Chamir rises on the southern slope of the mountain range, while the Koksa tributaries Chaidun and Karagai have their origin on the northern slope. The highest peak is Lineiski Belok (Линейский Белок) with 2599  m . This forms the transition to the northwestern Koksu ridge . The mountain range of the Qysylqaraghai connects to the east . The Ulba ridge branches off to the southwest . The mountain is composed of metamorphic rocks with granite - intrusions . On the mountain slopes at altitudes of 2000- 2100  m there is a Taiga from cedar - and deciduous forest . Above this is a zone with subalpine flora and mountain tundra .
