The Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Church is in the Ifta district of the city of Treffurt in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

history

The sacred building was built in 1714 in the style of the peasant baroque . The Romanesque parts of the tower from the previous church were included in the construction. Unfortunately, there is no further information about the previous church.

In the nave there is an organ that is considered to be the oldest in the region. Heinrich Wilhelm von Ebenhausen built it in 1724 with 26 registers divided between two manuals and a pedal . The interior painting in the style of the peasant baroque is richly colored and rich in images. After extensive restoration, the organ was put back into operation in August 2018.
