The Koksa ( Russian Ко́кса ) is a left tributary of the Katun in the south of the Russian Altai Republic .

The Chaidun ( Хайдун ) forms the upper reaches of the Koksa . This has its origin in the Altai Mountains near the Kazakh border. The Chaidun flows mainly in a northerly direction. From the confluence with the Notschnaja the river is called "Koksa". The Koksa turns to the east and after a total flow distance of 179 km reaches the small town Ust-Koksa , administrative center of the Rajon of the same name , and flows from the left into the Katun, the main source river of the Ob . The Koksa drains an area with an area of ​​5600 km². At the Ust-Koksa gauge, 2 km above the mouth, it has an average discharge of 84 m³ / s.
