Saint-Tugdual ( Breton : Sant-Tudal ) is a French municipality with 370 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the community association Roi Morvan Communauté .
geography
Saint-Tugdual is located in the northwest of the Morbihan department and belongs to the Pays du Roi Morvan.
Neighboring municipalities are Plouray in the north, Ploërdut in the east and southeast, Le Croisty in the south and Priziac in the west.
The place itself is a crossing point of different streets - but it is away from important thoroughfares. The D1 passes five kilometers away. All other regional or national road connections are far away from Saint-Tugdual.
The most important bodies of water are the Aër river and the Corrogant , Kerminizy , Kersallic , Kermartin and Le Moulin du Bois streams . In some cases, these also form the municipal boundary. There are also several ponds in the municipality. In the northern part of the municipality there are numerous large pieces of forest. The largest is the Bois de Kerminizy .

history
Historically, the municipality belongs to the Breton region of Bro Gwened (French: Vannetais) and within this region to the Bro Bourlet (French: Pays Pourlet) area and shares its history. Saint-Tugdual belonged to the canton of Priziac from 1793 until its dissolution in 1801. Since then, the community has belonged to the canton of Guémené-sur-Scorff. In 1903, part of the municipality split off and formed the independent municipality of Le Croisty.
