Croixanvec ( Breton : Kroeshañveg ) is a French municipality with 164 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the community association Pontivy Communauté .

geography

Croixanvec is located in the far north of the Morbihan department on the border with the Côtes-d'Armor department and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.

Neighboring communities are Hémonstoir in the Côtes-d'Armor département in the north, Saint-Gonnery in the east and south-east, Saint-Gérand in the south and south-west and Kergrist in the west.

The place is a bit away from roads for national traffic. The most important road connection is the D700 / D768 (formerly Route nationale 168 ) between the N164, which passes further north of the municipality, and the N24 far to the south.

The most important body of water is the Rigole d'Hilvern , which is also the municipality and department boundary .

history

The municipality historically belongs to the Breton region of Kernev (French Cornouaille) and within this region to the area Bro Loudieg (French Pays de Loudéac) and shares its history. From 1793 until its dissolution in 1801, Croixanvec belonged to the canton of Noyal. Since then, the place has been assigned to the canton of Pontivy.
