Crédin ( Breton : Kerzhin ; Gallo: Qerdein ) is a French municipality with 1559 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the community association Pontivy Communauté .

Crédin is located in the center of Brittany in the north of the Morbihan department and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.

The place is far away from roads for national traffic. However, several important department roads lead through the municipality (D2, D11, D17, D764).
The most important waters are the river Oust , the Canal de Nantes à Brest and the stream Lindreu , which is called Runio in the lower reaches . The municipal boundary partially runs along these watercourses.

Crédin is first mentioned in 1116 under the name Cherdin . The municipality historically belongs to the Breton region of Bro-Sant-Brieg (French Pays de Saint-Brieuc) and within this region to the Bro Loudieg area (French Pays de Loudéac) and shares its history. From 1801 until its dissolution on September 10, 1926, it belonged to the Arrondissement of Ploërmel. From 1793 until its dissolution in 1801, Crédin belonged to the canton of Brehan Loudeac.
