Persquen ( Breton : Persken ) is a French municipality with 346 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the community association Roi Morvan Communauté .

geography

Persquen is located in the northwest of the Morbihan department and belongs to the Pays du Roi Morvan.

Neighboring communities are Locmalo in the north and northeast, Bubry in the east and in the southeast, Inguiniel in the southwest and Lignol in the west.

The place itself is a bit away from important thoroughfares on the D3 / D23 from Rostrenen to Baud . The most important regional road connection D782, which connects the N124 with the N125, passes just a few kilometers north of the municipality.

The most important bodies of water are the Scorff River and the Le Chapelain , Goah Mout and Saint-Vincent streams . In some cases, these also form the municipal boundary. There are also several ponds in the municipality. Large parts of the center and south of the municipality are covered by forest.

history

Historically, the municipality belongs to the Breton region of Bro Gwened (French: Vannetais) and within this region to the Bro Bourlet (French: Pays Pourlet) area and shares its history. Persquen has belonged to the canton of Guémené-sur-Scorff since 1793.
