Réguiny ( Breton : Regini ) is a French municipality with 1992 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the community association Pontivy Communauté .
geography
Réguiny is located in the north of the Morbihan department and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy.
Neighboring municipalities are Crédin in the north, Pleugriffet in the east, Radenac and Moréac in the south and Évellys with Naizin in the west and northwest.
The place is a bit away from roads for national traffic. The main road link through the municipality is the D11 from Rohan to Saint-Jean-Brévelay . The next major road connection is the N24, which runs several kilometers south of the municipality. The rail connection through the Chemins de fer du Morbihan was given up again in 1939.
The most important bodies of water are some streams such as Coëdon , Runio and Bonvallon . The municipal boundary partially runs along these watercourses.

history
Historically, the municipality belongs to the Breton region of Bro-Gwened (French: Vannetais) and within this region to the Bro Baod (French: Pays de Baud) area and shares its history. From 1801 until its dissolution on September 10, 1926, it belonged to the Arrondissement of Ploërmel. From 1793 until its dissolution in 1801, Réguiny was the capital of the canton of the same name.
