Naizin ( Breton : Neizin ) is a village and a former French commune with 1,804 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Morbihan in the region of Brittany . The municipality belonged to the arrondissement Pontivy and the canton Locminé .

With effect from January 1, 2016 Naizin was merged with the former communities Moustoir-Remungol and Remungol to form a commune nouvelle with the name Évellys and has the status of a commune déléguée in the new community . The administrative center of the municipality is located in Naizin.

geography

Naizin is located in the southern part of central Brittany and belongs to the Pays de Pontivy. The D17 runs through the village of Naizin as a connection from Locminé to Rohan . The main bodies of water are the Belle Chère and the Ével . There are also a few small ponds and the Coëtdan , Guern , Le Ruino and Le Guénolay streams .

Neighboring towns are Kerfourn in the north, Crédin in the north-east, Réguiny in the east, Moréac in the south, Remungol in the south-west, Moustoir-Remungol in the west and Noyal-Pontivy in the north-west.

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1253 in the form of envy . Historically, the municipality belongs to the Breton region of Bro-Gwened (French: Vannetais) and within this region to the Bro Baod (French: Pays de Baud) area and shares its history. Naizain was assigned to the canton of Locminé in 1793.
