language

In the early Middle Ages the area was settled by Bretons and their colloquial language was everyday language. During the second wave of retreat of the Breton language in the late Middle Ages (between 1200 and 1500), the language changed to Gallo . This dialect of French has now almost died out and the population now speaks French.

Sainte-Onenne village church

The small church of Sainte-Onenne was built in the 17th century and was completely restored between 1942 and 1962 by the village pastor Gillard. Pastor Gillard had a great passion for the Arthurian legend and the Holy Grail . Today the formative design elements of the church are borrowed from the Arthurian legend and are thus an example of how old myths find their way into Christian mythology in modern times.

To the north of the village is the monks' garden
