The Chamisso bellflower ( Campanula dasyantha subsp. Chamissonis ) is a subspecies of the species Campanula dasyantha from the genus of bellflowers ( Campanula ) in the family of the bellflower family (Campanulaceae).

description

The Chamisso bellflower is an evergreen, perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 5 to 15 centimeters. It forms a rhizome . The basal leaves are ovate, glossy and ciliate on the edge, otherwise they are glabrous.

The calyx tips are egg-lanceolate, hairy and 1/3 as long as the crown. The calyx appendages are pointed and shorter than the corolla tube. The crown is ciliate on the edge, bearded inside, long bell-shaped, veined and more or less blue.

The flowering time is in June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 34.

Occurrence

The Chamisso bellflower occurs in the Aleutian Islands , Kamchatka , the Kuril Islands and in northern and central Japan in stone fields in gravelly mountain tundra, on volcanic slopes and on coastal dunes.

Systematics

The Campanula chamissonis described by Andrei Alexandrowitsch Fjodorow in 1957 as a separate species was recognized in 2002 as a subspecies of Campanula dasyantha .

use

The chamisso bellflower is rarely used as an ornamental plant in rock gardens.
