The Sport Aid Club of the Best (until 2017: Champion of the Year ) has been an athlete election that has been held since 2000, in which Germany's top athletes choose their champion of the year. The Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation, as the organizer, together with the support of business partners, invites the most successful German athletes of a year together with their families to a one-week stay in a holiday club .

All German athletes who have won a medal in the highest ranking competition of the year are invited. The Olympic Games , World and European Championships can come into play. The winner of the election by the athletes wins an automobile.

In 2008 the event itself received an award and was named “Selected Location 2008” in the “Germany - Land of Ideas” competition. The award is an initiative of the federal government and the Federation of German Industry.
