supporting documents

The ruler's name is only known from the Turin royal papyrus. So far there are no contemporary objects that can be attributed to him. Manetho appears as the last (after Eusebius) or penultimate ruler of the Hyksos a certain Archles, who is possibly identical with Chamudi. However, this equation is not certain. Kim Ryholt assigns Chamudi the throne name Hetepibre, which is only attested on scarabs. According to Manetho, Archles is said to have ruled for 49 or 30 years. Wolfgang Helck and Jürgen von Beckerath give Chamudi almost 10 years of reign. According to a note on the mathematical papyrus Rhind , Sile and Heliopolis are conquered by Ahmose , the Theban ruler , in the year 11 . It is uncertain whether the given year refers to Chamudi or Ahmose.

The discovery of a lance tip, which got from Auaris to Thebes as booty, is significant for the chronological dating : an inscription allows the equation of the years 11/12 of Chamudi with the year 18/19 of Ahmose.
