Channon Thompson (born March 29, 1994 in San Fernando ) is a volleyball player from Trinidad and Tobago . The outside attacker played for clubs in many countries, most recently for the German Bundesliga club Allianz MTV Stuttgart .

Career

Thompson began her career at the Starlings Club at the age of thirteen, having previously tried swimming and running. She then received further training at St Joseph's Convent in her hometown of San Fernando. In 2010 the outside attacker was hired by the Polish club AZS Białystok . In 2013 she moved to the French club Évreux Volley-Ball and a year later to VK Uralotschka-NTMK in Yekaterinburg . In 2014/15 she played in Turkey for Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor and again in France for Béziers Volley the following season . In 2017 Thompson took part in the World Grand Prix with the Trinidad and Tobago national team. In the 2017/18 season she was initially active at Ankara Numune and then in her home country at Foton Tornadoes. With the national team, she took part in the 2018 World Cup in Japan . In December 2018, she was subsequently signed by the German Bundesliga club Rote Raben Vilsbiburg . After a brief engagement with the Motolite Power Builders in the Philippines, Thompson moved to the German champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart in 2019 . With the club she reached the final of the DVV-Pokal 2019/20 , which Stuttgart lost to Dresdner SC . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, the team was in second place in the table. She then left the club with an unknown destination.
