The Chanui ( Mongolian Хануй Гол, Хануйн Гол , Chanui Gol ) is a right tributary of the Selenga in central Mongolia .

The Chanui rises in the Archangai Aimag on the northern flank of the Changai Mountains . It flows in a predominantly north-easterly direction, passing the settlement Erdenemandal . The river then flows south and east past the Sharga Nuur lake . It finally flows again in a northerly direction, it reaches the Bulgan-Aimag and finally flows west of Chutag-Öndör into a southern branch of the Selenga . The Chanui has a length of 421 km. It drains an area of ​​14,600 km². The mean discharge (MQ) is 20 m³ / s. The river is flooded in spring and summer . In winter, the Chanui is covered with ice.
