Total chaos -

Chaos Total is the seventh music album by the German minimal electro music group Welle: Erdball .

The album was released on September 1, 2006 and promptly reached first place in the German Alternative Charts (DAC) . In addition, increased chaos Total in the German album charts , where it was ranked 77th

As with the last album Die Wunderwelt der Technik (2002), the album is based on a concept. Since the research required more and more time and took more time than initially expected, the originally planned publication date in autumn 2005 could not be met. Chaos Total deals primarily with mathematical and social chaos in various facets, such as the number of the worlds, apple men , almond bread , Koch's formulas , as well as terrorism and the collapse of social society. As usual, the topics mentioned are presented in a profound, ironic and sarcastic manner. As a new band member, Plastique came to Welle: Erdball , who already played an active part on this album.

The record received a lot of critical acclaim. The music magazine Orkus described the album as "the best show so far". In addition to the pieces that justify the concept of the album, Chaos Total also contains two pieces from the previous album Horizonterweiterungen ( Greetings from Orion and Das Mandala , favorites from Honey and ALF), which was only released on vinyl and limited to 2,000 copies , as well as the former exclusive piece (Das Sternenkind) from the vinyl version of Die Wunderwelt der Technik, limited to 500 copies . There is also a newly recorded version of Bill Gates on the album , come fuck with me! , which was heard in 1996 on the album Tanzpalast 2000 . According to the display, there are 23 tracks on the CD (alluding to the Illuminati), but only songs 1 to 20 contain music (due to the limited space on a CD). If the songs Mathematique and Pi are played on top of each other, this symbiosis results in the new song Die Weltenzahl (some other songs offer decryption codes or hidden messages). If you also put the CD into a computer, you now have the option of using a link to reach an exclusive Internet address where you can download the two other songs Zombies im Kaufhaus and Wizard of Wor , which ultimately allows you to get the number of songs from 23 is coming. In the minus area of the CD you can also find an episode of the radio play The Adventures of Commander Laserstrahl and his board computer . This amusing science fiction radio play was created by the members of Welle: Erdball and their private friends. The CD with all the episodes of this radio play went on sale shortly after Chaos Total . There is also a Morse code on the back of the CD booklet, which results in the following text: "Gnscch Think". If you change the code a little (add an additional space after the first two lines and change the four lines to four points), then it becomes “think about it”.

As usual, almost all the songs on Chaos Total are in German. However, with Poupée de Cire, the cover of the classic by France Gall is on the disc.

The first edition of the album appeared lavishly equipped, with a bonus DVD containing band documentation, videos from live performances, music videos, picture galleries and other short films. In addition, this first edition appeared in a slipcase and had a flip-top cover, a sticker and a hidden Internet address.

After the album was released, Welle: Erdball began a Chaos Total tour of several months across Germany. From late summer 2007 this was continued as the Chaos Total concert tour . At these concerts, in addition to a new stage show, pieces from the 7 ″ vinyl record I am made of plastic, which was released later, could be heard. In the spring of 2009, Chaos Total was re-released as a 500-limited picture LP.
