Chaosbreed is a supergroup from Finland that plays traditional death metal .
Band history
The band was founded in 2003 by Taneli Jarva (Ex- Sentenced , Ex- Impaled Nazarene , The Black League ), Esa Holopainen , Marko Tarvonen ( Moonsorrow , Arthemesia , The Wicked , Lakupaavi ), Nalle Österman (Ex- Gandalf , Ex- Lullacry , Ex- Shaman ) and Olli-Pekka "Oppu" Laine .
Just a few weeks after the announcement of the collaboration, Chaosbreed put the demo Unleashed Carnage available on their website in May 2003 , which was later pressed onto CD in a somewhat expanded state by the Finnish label Rising Realm Records . After the original plans to record the debut album in the Sunlight Studio in the summer of 2003 had to be given up due to scheduling difficulties, work in the CCPC Studio began in September of the same year with the support of Santeri Kallio and Niclas Etelävuori (both Amorphis). On December 18, 2003, a contract with the Century Media label was announced, which on April 26, 2004 released the album Brutal on CD and as a vinyl limited to 500 copies. Shortly afterwards in July a split CD was released with the Finnish hardcore band Rytmihäiriö .
In April 2005 Chaosbreed announced that the band had split up with Taneli Jarva and Esa Holopainen on April 6th and were looking for new members for an upcoming tour with Grave . Ten days later it was announced that they would play the planned tour in the original line-up, only to announce a week later that the band would not take part in the Grave tour after all. There was one last official sign of life from Chaosbreed in October 2005 when it was announced that there would be no more gigs until further notice.
