Rytmihäiriö ( arrhythmia ) is a Finnish band from Helsinki . Their style of music, which the members themselves call "Surmacore", is a mixture of Hardcore and Thrash Metal , with older material being punk-heavy, newer material more towards metal. The texts are in Finnish and deal with murders that were committed under the influence of alcohol, mostly the booze Gambina , which is popular with the homeless .
Band history
Rytmihäiriö was founded in autumn 1988 by friends Kalle Ellilä, Ande Kiiski and Otto Luotonen. Guitarist Karis was commandeered through a newspaper advertisement. When Riku Pääkkönen founded the Spinefarm Records label in 1990 , Rytmihäiriö was the first band to be signed. In 1991 the first album Surman siipien havinaa was released . After various line-up changes, the band broke up in 1992.
In 1998, Ande, Otto and the singer Godfather, who was active at the time of the dissolution, got together again and resurrected Rytmihäiriö. The line-up was completed by Janne Perttilä (live member of Moonsorrow ) on guitar. In 2002 Pate left the band and was replaced by Unto Helo , who is also known as an actor in Finland.
In the following years the band released a second album with the title Saatana on Herra and a split CD with Chaosbreed with smaller distributors . The breakthrough came in 2006, when Rytmihäiriö signed with the Sakara Records label , which was founded in 2003 by members of the band Mokoma . The album Seitsemän Surman Siunausliitto , released in the same year, entered the Finnish album charts at number 36. In November 2006 the band toured Finland together with Mokoma and Stam1na . A DVD was recorded in Nosturi in Helsinki, Teatria in Oulu and Rytmikorjaamo in Seinäjoki , and it was released in May 2007. The seven singles extracted from it were all in the Finnish single charts in the tenth week of spring 2007.
On February 27, 2008 the fourth album Sarvet, Sorkat, Salatieteet was released , which entered the Finnish album charts at number 10. In February 2010, the recording work began for the fifth album Surmantuoja , which was released on May 12, 2010.
