Radio Charivari Würzburg (also Meincharivari ) is a private radio broadcaster from Würzburg . The station has been on the air since May 8, 1987. The shareholders are Neue Welle Bayern Rundfunk-Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (98%) and the Association of Taxpayers (2%).
history
Charivari's studio was located on Augustinerstrasse from 1987 and moved to Semmelstrasse in 1993. In the first year of its operation, the station was still called Mainradio and shared its FM frequency with Radio W1 and Radio Gong Mainland (later 106.9 Radio Gong ). In 1988 Radio Charivari received its own frequency and has been broadcasting a 24-hour music program ever since. Moderators from the very beginning included Christine Kleinz, Dagmar Klieme, Eberhard Fruck, Tilman Hampl.
In the early years, Charivari broadcast an AC format . In 1989 there was a switch to folk music and oldies. In the late 1990s, the format was gradually rejuvenated: First hits and oldies were played, from 2003 Charivari mainly played English-language classics from international rock and pop history, and from 2007 onwards there were several changes between different AC formats for broader middle-aged target groups.
The well-known presenter of the morning show was Christian Stürmann (who has since died). In the 1980s he was a presenter at Radio Brenner , later also at 106.9 Radio Gong , Radio Ton , RTL Radio Luxemburg and Welle Fidelitas . From October 2010, the program will be designed by Daniel Pesch and changing comodernators.
