Charles-Edouard DuBois

Charles-Edouard DuBois (born October 19, 1847 in West Hoboken , New Jersey , † March 6, 1885 in Menton ) was a Swiss landscape painter and watercolorist ( early Impressionism ).

After finishing school in the USA and Paris, DuBois took drawing lessons with Heinrich Funk in Stuttgart and André Jecklin in Neuchâtel. In 1867 DuBois visited Charles Gleyre's studio in Paris. Since the Paris Salon of 1869, DuBois has exhibited his pictures regularly in his two studios in Paris and Neuchâtel.
