action
Charles Dé, a 50-year-old Geneva manufacturer, leaves the company and his family. He finds shelter and friendship with the "wild" couple Paul and Adeline. The daughter Marianne visits him sometimes and runs a kind of educational program with him. The son Pierre, on the other hand, hires a private detective, takes out the father and sends him with the outpatient department of the Flickmann Clinic to the idyll, which is short-lived.
Reviews
“Alain Tanner's first long feature film impresses with its sincere critical engagement, psychological empathy, the sober film language and the playful inclusion of quotes that range from Marx to Benjamin to popular wisdom. A convincing examination of a life crisis and at the same time a bitter description of Swiss reality. "
