Renato Berta

Renato Berta (born March 2, 1945 in Bellinzona ) is a Swiss cameraman .

Life

After training as a mechanic, Berta studied from 1966 in the camera class of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Until 1968 he worked as a cameraman for television, then as a freelance cameraman.

His most important works include: Charles - dead or alive (1969), The Salamander (1971), He's Not That Bad (1974), Messidor (1979), The Kiss of Tosca (1984), Full Moon Nights (1984), Au revoir les enfants (1987), season (1992) and Smoking / No Smoking (1993).

In 2014 he was awarded the honorary prize of the German Camera Prize for his life's work.
