Ambassador to Honduras

On November 8, 2005, Ford submitted its letter of accreditation from the government of George W. Bush to the government of Ricardo Maduro .

On November 13, 2005, parts of Honduras were damaged by the storm Gamma , which Ford declared its government to be a disaster on November 18, 2005. During his tenure as ambassador he was involved in the implementation of a five-year development program for half a billion USD in a managerial role. With the establishment of Palmerola Air Base , Honduras has transformed itself from the backyard of the US into its unsinkable aircraft carrier in the region. Ford was the representative of the DR-CAFTA free trade agreement in Tegucigalpa. In mid-July 2008, Manuel Zelaya celebrated with Hugo Chávez and Daniel Ortega in Managua , July 19, 1979, the 29th anniversary of Anastasio Somoza Debayle's exile in Florida. Shortly afterwards, Zelaya announced that Honduras would join the Bolivarian Alliance for America . Ford then announced that he knew that a significant proportion of the remesas that were transferred from the United States to Honduras had been acquired through drug trafficking. Ford also stated that since he took office in 2005, he has often felt attacked. Zelaya replied that the US was the main cause of drug smuggling in Latin America and the Caribbean. Zelaya speculated that Ford was bellicose because Honduras had diplomatic relations with the Caracas, Havana and Managua. Just because Honduras receives US aid doesn't mean its country is a vassal of northern benefactors. Zelaya then accused the US of supporting coups, invasions and uprisings across Central America. Zelaya did not like the diplomat Ford and revealed that he had proposed his government to grant Luis Posada Carriles political asylum in Honduras, which Zelaya had refused.

Ford is married to Lillian Ford, their children are Monica Anna and Michael Arthur Ford.
