Charles Fouqueray
Charles Fouqueray , actually Charles Dominique Fouqueray , (born April 23, 1869 in Le Mans , Département Sarthe , † March 28, 1956 ) was a French painter .
Life
Fouqeray came from an old family of officers; his father was a naval officer. He received his artistic training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris , a. a. by Alexandre Cabanel and Fernand Cormon . Supported and encouraged by his teachers, he was able to successfully take part in the Salon des artistes français as early as 1888 .
In 1908 Fouqueray was appointed to the Peintre Officiel de la Marine (Official Painter of the Navy).
