Charles Ghislain

Charles Ghislain (born November 28, 1951 in Ixelles ) is a Belgian diplomat .

Life

Charles Ghislain is married and has three sons. He studied political science and aviation and maritime law. He joined the foreign service in 1978 and was an attaché in Vienna . From 1979 to 1982 he was the embassy secretary in Budapest . From 1983 to 1987 he was first class embassy secretary in Madrid . From 1988 to 1991 he was Counselor in Washington, DC From 1992 to 1994 he headed the Europe and North America Department at the State Department. From 1995 to 1994 he was Deputy Representative of the Belgian Government at the OECD . From 1999 to 2000 he was ambassador to Algiers , Algeria . In 2001 he was chairman of the EU Commission's Europe-Africa Dialogue. 2002 Chairman of Committee 133 . From 2003 to 2006 representatives of the Belgian government in the euro Europe in the wake representative and chairman of the board of the Council of Europe Development Bank . From 2006 to 2010 he was accredited ambassador to the governments of Uzbekistan, Armenia and Georgia, based in Brussels . He has been an ambassador to the Holy See since 2010
