Charles John Horter (born April 27, 1948 in Philadelphia ) is a former American sailor .

Charles Horter, who was a member of the Island Heights Yacht Club , took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich alongside John Marshall as a crew member on the American kite- class boat with skipper Donald Cohan . They finished the regatta taking place in the Olympic Center Schilksee in Kiel in third place behind the Australian boat with skipper John Cuneo and the East German boat led by Paul Borowski , with which they won the bronze medal.

Horter graduated from Drexel University in 1970 . He then worked in the real estate industry.
