Charles Jenkins, Jr.
Charles Jenkins ( Charles Lamont "Chip" Jenkins Jr .; born April 9, 1964 in New York City ) is a former American sprinter .
At the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1991 , he was part of the US team that won the silver medal behind Germany in the 4 x 400 meter relay . In the 400-meter run , he finished fourth in 47.18 s.
At the Olympic Games in 1992 he started in the run-up to the 4-by-400-meter relay, which qualified in the cast Darnell Hall , Michael Johnson , Jenkins, Quincy Watts as second of their heat for the final. Hall and Jenkins were not used in the finals when Andrew Valmon , Watts, Michael Johnson and Steve Lewis won with a world record of 2: 55.74 minutes. Since, according to the Olympic regulations, the substitutes have also received a medal since 1984 if they were used in the run-up or intermediate run, Charles Jenkins is officially Olympic champion through his run-up .
Charles Jenkins is 1.86 m tall and weighed 77 kg during his playing days. He is the son of Charles “Charlie” Jenkins , who was Olympic champion in the 400-meter run and the 4-by-400-meter relay in 1956.
