Charles Leickert
Charles Henri Joseph Leickert (* 22. September 1816 in Brussels ; † 5. December 1907 in Mainz ) was a Belgian painter of romanticism .
Life
Charles Leickert took private time - and drawing lessons in The Hague , among others, Bartholomew van Hove , Wijnand Nuijen and Andreas Schelfhout . He specialized in landscape painting , especially in winter, and urban landscapes. Between 1841 and 1848 Leickert worked and lived in The Hague and from 1849 to 1883 in Amsterdam . In 1856 he was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Amsterdam . In the later years he traveled to Italy , France and Germany .
