Charles Ogle (actor)
Charles Stanton Ogle (born June 5, 1865 in Steubenville , Ohio , † October 11, 1940 in Long Beach , California ) was an American actor. From 1908 to 1926 he appeared in about 300 films.
Life
Ogle was already a seasoned stage actor - he made his Broadway debut in 1905 - when he joined Edison Studios in New York's Bronx in 1908, where he began in films by Edwin S. Porter . Around 1910 he also played several times under the direction of James Searle Dawley , including The Monster in Frankenstein (1910). Until the 1920s, he was a sought-after character actor who was often seen in supporting roles.
Ogle died of arteriosclerosis and was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale , California.
