Charlotte Bergemann

Charlotte Bergemann , née Koerber, widowed Eisinger (born October 25, 1915 in Cottbus ; † November 1, 2002 in Berlin ), was a member of the SPD and the SAJ from 1930 . During the time of National Socialism she was active in the resistance group New Beginning and from 1966 to 1974 a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

After elementary school, Charlotte Bergemann worked as a saleswoman and clerk. From 1930 she belonged to the SAJ at Arnimplatz , where she met her first husband Walter Eisinger (1910–1941). Together with Erich R. Schmidt and Kurt Mattick they were active in the resistance group Neu Beginnen and made their apartment on Finnländische Strasse in Prenzlauer Berg available for illegal meetings. Members of the group were arrested in autumn 1935, but the Eisinger couple was not exposed. Walter Eisinger fell in Scandinavia in 1941.

After the war , Charlotte Bergemann was politically active for the SPD in Wedding . From 1962 to 1963 she was a member of the Wedding District Assembly . From 1966 to 1974 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives.

Private

Charlotte Bergemann, née Koerber, married her first husband Walter Eisinger in 1938, who died in Scandinavia in 1941. After the war she married Heinz Bergemann (1923–1967), who u. a. District chairman of the SPD in Wedding and city council.
