Heinz Bergemann

Heinz Bergemann (born March 16, 1923 in Berlin ; † January 25, 1967 there ) was a German SPD politician .

Heinz Bergemann's parents were a lithographer and a seamstress. He attended elementary school and from 1937 did an apprenticeship as a machine fitter . Until 1942 he worked at Rheinmetall-Borsig AG in Berlin-Tegel . He was drafted , seriously wounded in 1944 and discharged from the Wehrmacht as a war disabled. In the same year he began studying at the Beuth Engineering School .

After the Second World War , Bergemann completed his training as a mechanical engineer . He joined the SPD in 1946 and a little later became the chairman of the Berlin Young Socialists . He first worked in the economic office of the Berlin magistrate and from 1948 onwards in the economic office of the Berlin Senate . From 1956 to 1961 Bergemann was the administrative director of the Rudolf Virchow Hospital . In the Berlin election in 1958 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, but in July 1961 he resigned from parliament because he was elected as a district councilor by the district assembly in the Steglitz district.

From 1957 to 1964 Bergemann was the chairman of the SPD Wedding .

His wife Charlotte Bergemann was also a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1966 to 1974.
