Charlotte Johanna von Waldeck-Wildungen (born December 13, 1664 in Arolsen , † February 1, 1699 in Hildburghausen ) was a German noblewoman .

Life

Charlotte Johanna was a daughter and the only child who survived childhood, Count Josias II von Waldeck -Wildungen and his wife, Wilhelmine Christine, daughter of Count Wilhelm von Nassau-Hilchenbach. It thus came from the Waldeck family .

She married on December 2, 1690 in Maastricht Johann Ernst IV. , Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld , the son of Ernst I , Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Altenburg . She was his second wife. They had eight children together. Through her son Franz Josias , she became the great-great-grandmother of King Leopold I of Belgium and great-great-great-grandmother of Queen Victoria of Great Britain .
