Charlotte for Ever is a 1986 French feature film.
This drama is one of the late works by the eclectic artist Serge Gainsbourg .
Gainsbourg was not only the director and writer of the film, but also played one of the main characters, a wrecked screenwriter who is dawning in his Hôtel particulier against the alcohol delirium. An important point of reference for him is his daughter. However, he only finds her when she forgives him for his mother's death.
It was no accident that Gainsbourg chose Charlotte Gainsbourg , his then adolescent daughter, for the role of adolescent girl. So the success of the film, as one was already used to from Gainsbourg, nourished itself on the provocation and the scandal : In this film, Gainsbourg and his biological daughter staged erotic fantasies relating to incest and pedophilia .
