Chase Rice
Chase Rice (born September 19, 1986 in Asheville , North Carolina ) is an American country singer .
Career
Chase Rice was one of those people who turned intensely into music when her sports career at school stalled due to an injury. He was on the University of North Carolina football team , but then decided to play country music. After college, he worked as a motor sports assistant, playing country evenings and weekends in Charlotte and Nashville . He first appeared in the public eye in 2010 when he participated in the TV reality show Survivor: Nicaragua , in which he came in second.
In the same year he also began to publish his own music, initially without much response. With the album Dirt Road Communion he had a respectable success in 2012 and entered the US country charts for the first time. The breakthrough but earned him the song Cruise from Florida Georgia Line , on which he had co-written. Not only was the song the band's first major hit, it even garnered a rare Diamond award. Rice was signed by the major Columbia label and another album was produced. First an EP was released in 2013 called Ready, Set, Roll , which was already quite successful and reached number 4 in the country charts. The title song came in fifth in the country singles, sold over a million copies and received a platinum award for it . In the summer of 2014, the pre-single Gonna Wanna Tonight was released , which became a radio hit before the album Ignite the Night was released and entered the country charts at number 1. It reached number 3 in the official album charts .
In the corona epidemic, Rice came under criticism for playing a concert in Petros, Tennessee during the quarantine. On Saturday June 27th, almost 1000 people came to his concert. The venue seats 10,000 people but has been reduced to 4,000.
