The Chaupi Orco ( Quechua : Chawpi Urqu , "Middle Mountain") is the highest peak of the Cordillera Apolobamba in the Bolivian - Peruvian border area.
It consists of the double summit "Chaupi Orco North" (6044 m) and "Chaupi Orco South" (6000 m).
It is 240 km northwest of the Bolivian seat of government La Paz on the border between the two neighboring countries and reaches an altitude of 6044 m. The Chaupi Orco is covered with snow all year round.
