Damon Laurence Lindelof (born April 24, 1973 in Teaneck , New Jersey ) is an American screenwriter and film producer .

Life

He became known as one of the inventors and main writers of the television series Lost . He previously worked for the series Crossing Jordan - Pathologist with Profile and Nash Bridges . In 2006 and 2007 he produced a Star Trek film with JJ Abrams , which was released in early May 2009 and was involved in the script for its sequel. The film was released as Star Trek Into Darkness in May 2013. He wrote the script for Ridley Scott's Prometheus with Jon Spaihts . The film was previously conceived as an alien prequel and was released in German cinemas in August 2012. Together with the author of the book The Leftovers , Tom Perrotta , he wrote the script for a series adaptation that was shown on HBO from 2014 to 2017 . He also wrote the script for the 2015 science fiction film Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney , Hugh Laurie and Britt Robertson . He then developed the series Watchmen (2019), which was followed by the film The Hunt (2020).

Lindelof has been married to film producer Heidi Fugeman since May 28, 2005 and lives in Los Angeles .
