Chencha Berrinches (Spanish for the old boxes ) is a Latin rock band from Los Angeles . It was founded in 1997 and plays a mix of ska , metal , and punk rock .
history
Chencha Berrinches, named after a Mexican swear word, has existed since 1997 and released her first album Lo Que Te Truje Chenchaim in 2002 on the Smelvis label. Initially, the band originally consisted of nine members, now there are seven persons besides the usual in rock music instruments electric guitar , electric bass and drums in addition saxophone and trumpet use.
Chencha Berrinches has been one of the defining bands of the Latin Ska scene in Southern California for years . Her shows contain elements from horror films . There's a plastic-bone drum kit and a fire eater . The band's second album, Cada Loco Con Su Tema (span. Everyone spins their wheel ) was first presented by the band on May 2, 2004 at the Roxy in Hollywood and released in January 2005 on the Übersee Records label . In July 2004 they were with two titles on the sampler Skandalo from the major label BMG for Latin America . The band also has its own collection at the Monster fashion company . Chencha Berrinches was the opening act for Die Toten Hosen on the Take or Die Tour in 2005.
