Cherbst Nunatak ( Bulgarian нунатак Хербст nunatak Cherbst ) is a southeast-northwest orientation 1.1 km long, 0.3 km wide and 1000  m high Nunatak on Alexander I Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Sofia Mountains it rises 5.51 km east-northeast of Thompson Hill , 9.78 km southeast of Mount Braun , 4.32 km south-southwest of the center of the Landers Peaks and 6.12 km northwest of the Lizard Nunatak . The Poste Valley is to the northwest, and the Nichols Snowfield is southeast of it.

British scientists mapped it in 1971. The Bulgarian geologists Christo Pimpirew and Borislaw Kamenow visited it on February 2, 1988 together with Philip Nell and Peter Marquis from the British Antarctic Survey . The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2017 after the Bulgarian journalist Josif Cherbst (1875–1925).
