Chertek Amyrbitovna Anchimaa-Toka

Khertek Anchimaa-Toka ( Russian Хертек Амырбитовна Анчимаа-Тока ., Scientific transliteration Chertek Amyrbitovna Ančimaa-Toka , * 1. January 1912 in Kyzyl-Dag , Imperial China , † 4. November 2008 in Kyzyl ) was a Tuvan politician. She was the world's first female head of state of a republic .

Chertek Antschimaa came from a destitute Tuvin family. After studying at the Communist University for the Workers of the East in Moscow , she worked from 1935 in the propaganda department of the Tuvan youth organization Rewsomol. In 1938 she became director of the women's division of the Tuva People's Revolutionary Party. From 1940 to 1944 she held the office of chairman of the Tuvan parliament ( Little Chural ) in the function of head of state . After Tuwas joined the Soviet Union on October 11, 1944, she held several regional offices until she retired in 1972.

In 1940 Chertek Antschimaa married the general secretary of the People's Revolutionary Party of Tuva and the actual ruler Saltschak Toka , but kept her family name. It was only after her husband's death in 1973 that she called herself Antschimaa-Toka. Chertek Antschimaa had two sons and a daughter.
